2023 highlights

Kia ora e te whānau,

Wow 2023 went by quickly! We, the project, got so much done last year, and we were involved in so many different things. In this post, I want to show some of the highlights through the pictures taken throughout the year.

Tepora Emery, project lead, and Hemana Waaka outside of the Waiouru Officers Mess. We were invited to be a part of a hui with NZDF and those involved in the WAI2500 Military Veterans Kaupapa Inquiry.

A photo I took while on a morning walk around the camp in Waiouru.

This time lapse was taken while on a research team wānanga in Ngongotahā, Rotorua.

A kōrero in a very interesting location. From L-R: Cheyenne Kohere, Michael Walker, Tepora Emery and George Nepata.

One of the many locations we stayed in last year while going around New Zealand interviewing our participants. This photo was taken in Lake Coleridge.

Me, Cheyenne, at the NZDF hui in Waiouru July 2023 just as the snow started falling.

These snapshots are only a small overview of everything that happened last year. We have lots planned for 2024 and we cannot wait to show you all. As those infantry people say, onward!
